At La Citadelle International Academy of Arts & Science, our partnership with the International Baccalaureate (IB) World School Organization brings the renowned IB Middle Years Programme (IB-MYP) to our students from Grade 6 to Level II (Grade 10). This program aligns with La Citadelle’s philosophy of holistic education, offering an interdisciplinary approach that integrates traditional subjects with real-world applications. The IB-MYP is designed to deepen students’ understanding and foster critical thinking, reflective inquiry, and intercultural awareness, all key elements of our educational values.
La Citadelle’s enriched curriculum is enhanced by the IB-MYP framework, which encourages students to connect learning across subjects like English, French, Mathematics, Sciences, and the Arts, mirroring our commitment to developing well-rounded individuals. Central to this approach is the program’s focus on global citizenship and intercultural understanding, ensuring students are not only academically prepared but also equipped to be compassionate, responsible citizens in an increasingly interconnected world.
Through the IB-MYP, students also build language proficiency, with La Citadelle offering both English and French as first languages, giving them a competitive edge in bilingual communication. The program culminates in the Personal Project in Level II, where students showcase their individuality, creativity, and global perspective.
At La Citadelle, the IB-MYP mirrors our commitment to nurturing students’ critical thinking, intercultural understanding, and global citizenship, making our educational experience truly exceptional.
Students learn best when their learning experiences have context and are connected to their lives and their experience of the world that they have experienced.
