LCA Houses, building community across all panels
At La Citadelle Academy, the House System plays a crucial role in fostering community, encouraging healthy competition, and promoting collaboration among students from Grade 1 through Level IV. Upon joining, each student is assigned to one of four Houses—Dragons (Green): “Powerful & Free”, Phoenix (Red): “Smart & Magical”, Sharks (Blue): “Ferocious & Decisive”, or Tigers (Yellow): “Brave & Talented”. These Houses create a lasting sense of identity, with students remaining in their assigned House until graduation.
The House System promotes camaraderie, connecting students across different grades and encouraging mentorship and friendships. Regular competitions in sports, academics, and cultural activities foster teamwork, leadership, and sportsmanship, while students can earn points for their House through achievements, good behavior, and active participation. These friendly rivalries build school spirit and encourage students to strive for excellence both individually and as a team.
One of the most prestigious roles within the House System is that of House Head, a coveted leadership position reserved for our senior secondary students. House Heads are responsible for organizing activities, leading their peers, and representing their House in various school-wide events. This leadership experience offers invaluable skills in organization, communication, and responsibility, preparing students for future challenges.
The House System at La Citadelle is a dynamic platform that nurtures leadership, teamwork, and a strong sense of belonging, enriching the overall student experience and helping students develop into well-rounded individuals.
